Acesta marissinica Yamashita & Habe, 1969 versus Acesta kronenbergi Thach, 2015: the issue of a contested synonym and its final resolution, pp. 1-15, pls I-XI, by Steve Hubrecht and Frank Nolf
Keywords: Mollusca, Bivalvia, LIMIDAE, Acesta marissinica, Acesta kronenbergi
Abstract: This paper aims to provide sufficient arguments to demonstrate that Acesta kronenbergi Thach, 2015 should be regarded as a junior synonym of Acesta marissinica Yamashita & Habe, 1969. This serves as a response to Dr Thach in Malacologia, n°124: 12-19.
About the variability of Marginella cleryi Petit de la Saussaye, 1836 (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Marginellidae) and a comparison with related species, pp. 16-26, pls I-VII, by Frank Nolf & Steve Hubrecht
Keywords: Mollusca, Gastropoda, MARGINELLIDAE, Marginella cleryi, Marginella pseudocleryi, Marginella elegans, Marginella scusae.
Abstract: The study of Marginella cleryi Petit de la Saussaye, 1836, involved a detailed comparison with morphologically similar species described in recent years. These include Marginella elegans Cossignani, 2021, which appears to be merely a variant of M. cleryi Petit de la Saussaye, 1836; Marginella pseudocleryi Cossignani, 2021, which looks like a special form of M. cleryi. Both are regarded as junior synonyms, and finally Marginella scusae Cossignani, 2023, possibly a distinct species or a teratological form of an already known species.
On Harpa costata (Linnaeus, 1758) (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Harpidae) and the form ‘multicostata’: a few comments on many ribs, pp. 27-36, figs 1-29, by Moshe Erlendur Okon
Keywords: Mollusca, Gastropoda, HARPIDAE, Harpa costata, taxonomy, nomenclature, intraspecific variability, East Africa.
Abstract: A brief natural history of the genus Harpa is offered and the nomenclatural history of H. costata discussed. The morphology of ‘multicostata’ forms of several harps is displayed, and the number of ribs is compared with ‘typical’ forms.
